I’ve always believed that connection is what makes life meaningful and photographs are one of the few things that let us hold onto that feeling.

My work is rooted in honesty and ease; I want every image to feel like you, not a version you had to perform for the camera. I notice the way light falls, the quiet gestures between people, and the stories that unfold in between it all — because that’s where real beauty lives.

Now, my husband and I live on a farm in New Hope with our golden retrievers, three cats, and a pasture full of cattle. It’s the kind of life that reminds me daily what’s worth holding onto… connection, love, and the moments that make up who we are.

For me, photography is more than just taking pictures. It’s about pausing time, creating space for people to breathe, to connect, and to remember what’s real. Because when you look back on your photos years from now, I want you to feel the warmth of that moment all over again.

I grew up in the small village of Fairfield, Virginia, surrounded by rolling hills and quiet mountain views that taught me to slow down and appreciate simple beauty.

I was ten years old when I picked up my parents’ old Nikon camera and snapped a photo of a bowl of spaghetti. My dad posted it online, and his photographer friends commented on how I’d somehow captured the steam curling up from the noodles. I didn’t know it then, but that small moment was the spark that would eventually lead me here.

Years later, as a freshman at James Madison University, I found myself lost in a season of uncertainty. I couldn’t find a major that felt right or a path that felt like me. One day, I picked up that same Nikon camera again (the one that had collected dust for years) and asked my roommate if I could take her photos. I didn’t know what I was doing, but something about it just clicked. For the first time, I felt at home.

Since then, I’ve spent years growing a business that has truly changed my life. I’ve photographed hundreds of graduates, over fifty weddings, and countless stories in between. What started as a creative outlet has become my greatest passion – capturing people as they are, in the seasons that matter most.

Her talent is obvious, but what really made her feel special was how she connected with us. Katie didn’t just take photos; she built a relationship making us feel seen, valued, and so confident in front of the camera. Her passion for her job was clear in every shot, and it meant so much to know she genuinely cared about us. It made the whole experience feel incredibly personal and heartfelt.

“Katie was more than just someone we hired. She became a true friend”

OUR CLIENTS HAVE THE SWEETEST THINGS TO SAY

TIMELESS INTENTIONAL CONNECTED

At the heart of my work is connection, with my couples, my seniors, and the stories they trust me to tell. I believe that genuine relationships create the most meaningful images, and that comfort in front of the camera begins with trust behind it. My approach is intentional, focused on slowing down and seeing people as they truly are.

I strive to create photographs that feel timeless – not because of the trends they follow, but because of the emotion they hold. Years from now, I want you to look back and still feel the laughter, the quiet, the joy… every small, beautiful piece of the story we captured together.
